GHOST+COW is a Brooklyn-based directing duo known for creating visually rich worlds ranging in genre from dark comedy to compelling documentary. Authenticity and powerful storytelling are always at the core of their work, whether they are aiming to illicit laughter, tears, or both. While they got their start making bizarre music videos and provocative short films, their work has uniquely evolved to include award-winning commercial work. Their accolades include multiple Cannes Lions, a Silver Pencil for Direction at the One Show, a Silver Promax award and best branded web film at ThinkLA’s Emerging Director’s Showcase.

Their most recent short film, L1ZY, premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and online as a Vimeo Staff Pick. L1ZY takes a poignant, haunting and yet comedic look at the increasing presence of devices driven by big data in our daily lives. An instant hit, it was recognized widely in both trade and mainstream press including Complex, Short of the Week, Fast Company, Muse by Clio, Digg and ZDNet.

Their work has screened at film festivals across the world, including six times at SXSW, and has been covered on the Late Night circuit, including Conan, Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert. In the commercial space, they have collaborated with a wide array of brands including McDonald’s, HP, Johnnie Walker, Home Depot, Aetna, British Airways and Walmart.

GHOST+COW continue to inhabit new spaces in the industry and create genre-defying work such as their experimental music video, “Drone Boning,” which became a huge viral success.

GHOST+COW is comprised of directors John Carlucci and Brandon LaGanke, who are neither Ghost nor Cow. The origin of their name is a story best saved for video village.
