Chelsea Lupkin an independent filmmaker known for her short horror film Lucy’s Tale, which premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival and was released online on Gunpowder & Sky’s horror platform, ALTER, where it has been viewed over 6.1 million times. Her next short horror, Flagged, was made in collaboration with the Sundance Institute and Hulu, where it is now streaming. Scooter also premiered at Fantasia in 2022 and became an official selection of SITGES, Beyond Fest, and Overlook Film Festival within its lineup.

Lupkin is a Senior Programmer at Short of the Week, the premiere curatorial destination for short films made by emerging and established filmmakers where she is also a contributing writer for the site. As a member of the independent film community, she was on the jury at this year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX and was a mentor for participants in Frontières international co-production market in Montreal, Canada. She is currently on the jury for Killer Shorts Horror Short Screenplay Competition, a contest for rising screenwriters in the genre.

Her films have been featured on Bloody Disgusting, PopHorror, Indiewire, Gizmodo, io9, SYFY WIRE, Cinema Crazed, and more. Lucy’s Tale is discussed in the book New Blood in Contemporary Cinema by Patricia Pisters, professor of media studies at the University of Amsterdam. Lupkin has directed commercials for major brands like TUBI and produced episodes, live productions, and documentaries for media outlets including Delish, MTV, VH1, Elle, Elle Decor, and GQ. Some of her most notable shows include Delish’s Iconic Eats, which explores the best food at popular theme parks across the country. She is an original member and Director of Photography for the Delish brand. 

Lupkin’s work spans across editorial, scripted, and commercial content. Lupkin is currently in pre-production for a feature film set for a spring production with Crooked Letter.
